Nomads – Worldbuilding: Über die Akkato

Die Ursprünge des mehr als respektablen Sternenreichs der kämpferisch veranlagten Akkato reichen bis in die vorchristliche Zeit um etwa 50.000 v.Chr zurück. Allerdings sind die ältesten noch vorhandenen Aufzeichnungen der Akkato (Haus Kathama) nur auf das Jahr 30.345 v.Chr. datiert, weshalb dieses Jahr bei den Akkato offiziell als Ursprungsjahr ihrer Zivilisation gilt. Zusammen mit den Oponi zählen sie zu den ältesten, ununterbrochen existierenden Zivilisationen der Galaxis. Ausgangspunkt ist das Ylisante-System mit der späteren Kernwelt Yanabor. Im 17. Jahrtausend v.Chr. stellt der Prophet Limban Batrooky auf Yanabor die heilige Chronik zusammen, mit Hilfe von Überlieferungen des Akkato-Fürstenhauses Kathama, der Völker Keegrook und Mohren sowie der Stämme aus den Steppen und von den Inseln. Ihrem Glauben nach entstammen die Akkato dem Vaterbaum, dessen Äste sich auf den Boden des Immerwalds neigten, beim Zurückschnellen die sich daran befindlichen Knospen abwarfen, und somit das Leben in ihnen freigaben. Auf dieselbe Weise wurde der Begründer der ersten Dynastie, Samoor Dakaatay, geboren. Von ihm stammte der Leitspruch der Akkato: „Ich werde dich bezwingen und du wirst mein Gefährte sein!“ Seine Familie herrschte hundert Generationen lang über das Volk der Akkato. Der Legende nach folgte dann eine mehrere Tausend Jahre währende Epoche der Verirrung und des Chaos. Der Seher und Prophet Limban Batrooky bestimmte daraufhin im 17’ten Jahrtausend v.Chr. einen Erben des Samoor Dakaatay, Nunsay Kahaal, zum Retter und salbte ihn zum König. Der Legende nach wurde Limban Batrooky von Otayn, dem Gott der Akkato, erwählt. Er zog aus, um alle heidnischen, dem König nicht huldigenden Kulturen und alle nicht loyal eingestellten Herrscherhäuser zu vernichten, einschließlich seiner eigenen Familie. Mit der Entdeckung und Anwendung der überlichtschnellen Raumfahrt im 12’ten Jahrtausend v.Chr. erreicht das Reich seine größte Ausdehnung, bis in das Jahr 10.019 n.Chr. hinein. In dieser Epoche lenkt ein 20-köpfiger Heiliger Rat die Geschicke des Reichs und dessen aggressive Expansion. Der Heilige Rat, gebildet aus religiösen Führern, ruft in seinem Selbstverständnis die Akkato der untergeordneten Schichten zum Heiligen Krieg, dem Kuda Dschenn, auf, um das Reich zu vergrößern und Otayn unterzuordnen. Im Jahr 10.019 n.Chr. findet ein radikaler Machtwechsel statt. Die Führung wird de jure und de facto von diesem Zeitpunkt an von einem paritätisch strukturierten Militärrat übernommen. Es folgt eine Epoche der Konsolidierung, die bis in die Neuzeit anhält. Die Religion der Akkato-Zivilisation tritt vollständig in den Hintergrund, wobei das Prophetentum weiterhin existiert. In der Zeit von Sargons Herrschaft – die Akkato nennen ihn Kash Kudun – kommt es nicht selten zu Berührungen zwischen beiden Herrschaftsbereichen. Nach mehreren bewaffneten Konflikten wird ein Nichtangriffspakt geschlossen, der jedoch mehr Ähnlichkeit mit einem brüchigen Waffenstillstand hat. Nach Schanors Sturz hält ein System der Hegemonie ab dem Jahr 50 pgz. im Reich Einzug. Die Religion der Akkato erlebt eine Renaissance. Das zuvor in Militärbezirke gegliederte Akkato-Reich wird in Konglomerate eingeteilt, denen jeweils ein einzelner Kronenfürst vorsteht. Der Rat aus militärischen Führern weicht dem Herrschaftsanspruch eines einzelnen Kronenfürsten, der von den wieder erstarkten Propheten eingesetzt wird.
Die Akkato gelten als die besten Kämpfer der Galaxis. Männliche Akkatos sind, im Gegensatz zu den etwas kleineren weiblichen, im Durchschnitt 3,00 Meter groß.
Am 21. Februar des Jahres 4589 n.Chr. stoßen sie eher zufällig als geplant auf die Erdzivilisation. Sie führen Krieg gegen die insektoiden Keymon. Zunächst nehmen sie keine Notiz von den Menschen der Erde und ihren Kolonien. Von den Menschen werden die Akkato auch als Pferdeköpfe bezeichnet.

The Holy Council, formed of religious leaders, in its self-image calls the Akkato of the subordinate strata to holy war, the Kuda Jenn, to expand the empire and subordinate Otayn. In 10,019 A.D., a radical change of power takes place. The leadership is taken over de jure and de facto from this time on by a military council structured on a parity basis. The Akkato are considered the best fighters in the galaxy. Male Akkato are, in contrast to the somewhat smaller female Akkato, on average 3.00 meters tall.
On February 21 of the year 4589 A.D., they encounter Earth civilization more by accident than design. They wage war against the insectoid Keymon. At first they take no notice of the humans of Earth and their colonies. The Akkato are also called horseheads by the humans.
